Queen's First Swimming!

April 28, 2012 0 Comments

Last April 15, 2012, my in laws side set a swimming get together and as celebration of my brother-in-law's graduation (Nursing course). Sorry for the late post my lovely readers. It was my Queen's first swimming in the big wave pool in St. Agatha Resort and Country Club in Bulacan.
Here are some of the photos I took from my fone:

Daddy and Queen
We bought her a lifebuoy before that day so we can be sure she'll be safe during the time she's in the water with her Dad since the day wasn't a perfect timing for me to take a dip.
My period was really annoying that time. I'm so jealous. I just spend my time eating and taking pictures of them.

Queen together with the family.

Mommy and Queen before we went home. She still wanted to take a bath. Look at her, she didn't want to look at the cam.

While waiting for everybody to get ready to go home, we've found out a pond full of colorful fishes.
We explored the place and saw that creatures. Nice! You could throw food to them and they are bunch taking the food.

sorry for the blurred photo
In the entrance you'll see the fountain and the name of the resort when you visit here.
It's really fun and relaxing specially if I got the chance to take a swim. But then, there's always a next time.
We'll definitely visit again. I'm sure my baby and my husband really enjoyed the day. I hope next time I am also soaking in the water. I want to experience the ZipLine too.

Here are some of the photo I copied in their website so you can see the beauty of St. Agatha Resort:

Summer is definitely more fun with NIVEA SUN! My top summer wonder is Boracay!

April 22, 2012 1 Comments
Summer is here! Are you excited? Me too!.. I just wanted to share to you my top Summer Wonders here in the Philippines where I would like to visit and have fun while it's summer (how I wish???). I'm sorry because I am sharing with you my top pick not based on my own experiences but it is based on my on going research and reader's feedback. Well, I know some of you are very excited to go on vacation, these top pick of mine are very nice place to enjoy your summer.

Boracay, Aklan - Boracay is probably the most well known place in the Philippines right now having earned the reputation as being the place to be for beach fun and parties year round.
The name Boracay is attributed to different origins. One story says that it is derived from the local word "borac" which means white cotton with characteristics close to the color and texture of Boracay's white sugary and powdery sand. Another credits the name to local words "bora," meaning bubbles, and "bocay," meaning white. Yet another version dating back to the Spanish era says the name is derived from "sagay," the word for shell, and "boray," the word for seed.

Boracay Island is located off the northwest corner of Panay Island, and belongs to the Western Visayas island-group, or Region VI, of the Philippines. The island is approximately seven kilometers long, dog-bone shaped with the narrowest spot being less than one kilometer wide, and has a total land area of 10.32 square kilometers.

boracay sand castle

Leisure activities available on or near Boracay include scuba diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, kiteboarding, cliff diving, and beach relaxation.Boracay offers a wide range of restaurants, bars, pubs, and nightclubs.

Boracay is served by two airports in Aklan province: one in Kalibo and Godofredo P. Ramos Airport (commonly referred to as "Caticlan airport") in Malay.
The western part of the Strong Republic Nautical Highway (SRNH) passes through Caticlan, with car ferries from Roxas, Oriental Mindoro docking at the Caticlan jetty port. Several bus companies operate provincial bus routes from Manila which pass through Caticlan via the SRNH.
The two main modes of transport are via motor-tricycles along the main road or by walking along the beaches. Pedicabs are also available for transport along the Beachfront Path. Other means of transportation include mountain bikes, quadbikes and motorbikes, all of which can be rented.

You shouldn't missed to visit Boracay and there's a lot more. You’ll definitely never run out of things to do and see  there. Enjoy your summer vacations! This is my entry for Nivea 7 Summer Wonders Blogger Contest!

Happy 3rd Year Anniversary!

April 20, 2012 0 Comments

Today, me and my husband are celebrating our 3rd year being together. I'm at work while he's at home with our Queen. It's like an ordinary day. No celebration, we just greeted each other when we woke up early this morning then we kissed. Thank God we have reached another year together. Still working.
Hoping for more happy and fruitful years to come.

I know you want to know our love story. It's not that interesting, but I'm glad to tell you now..

When I met my husband, I was only 19 years old. I graduated of  vocational course year 2007 and was hired after 4 months of searching. I was hired by my Alma Matter (the same school where my husband entered for his 2nd course) as an Accounting Staff and at the same time doing a cashier job in our school. On 2nd semester year 2008, that's the time we've met through his schoolmate, a friend which supposed to be a close student to us (admin personnel). I asked the girl to fix my phone because it was always hanging ( I forgot the unit but it was a Nokia just like N70). The girl then directed to my husband to reformat my phone. He has a crush on me that time (he was always looking at me at the cashier window but I'm not aware) so he got the chance to have my number through that girl. That's the start, he texted me and I replied then we've talked a lot and we've known each other. I was then applying for abroad, but unfortunately I've waited for so long so I still stayed in the school to work while waiting. That time, the school Director asked me if I want to shift position as cashier in another branch which is in my hometown, so I accepted the offer to lessen my expenses because our place was too far from Malolos, very costly. I thought the communication between me and my husband  would get lost, but how nice of him to stay connected and when my birthday came on, he visited me in the branch and brought me a cake and an unexpected silver ring as a gift. Weeeeeh! A month later, we became boyfriend-girlfriend.

We're not included in a perfect relationship. But we had through a lot of conflicts. Thanks God for always guiding us. After almost two years, we've got engaged then the greatest gift of all came, it's our Queen. We got married before the baby arrives, first on civil last February 2011 then after I gave birth on April 2011, we waited for a month and got rushed on preparing for our church wedding on May. Thank God again, even though the wedding wasn't that "extravagant" at least we got married. For me, it's not important if it is lavish or not, what matters the most is how to manage your marriage. How would you stay together until you grow old?

I just want to say I love you so much Daddy and of course to our Queen. Life isn't that always easy, I may not be the best wife in this world, but I'll do my best to make your life worth living for together with me and Queen.

Thanks for being my Husband. Thanks for thinking about me. Thanks for caring about me and Queen. Thanks for everything you did for me and Queen.., You shouldn’t have, but I’m so glad you did!^^ The time we've had together has been amazing.  I can't believe it's been another year.  I'm looking forward to spending the rest of my life with you.

How to deal with your Baby's tantrums?

April 16, 2012 0 Comments
As I entered the motherhood, I haven't been ready with the things I'll be encountering but I'm aware of what should be happened. At first, I'm afraid, confused and I feel like I don't know anything about parenting. Those people around me never fails to support and guide me on how to's, what to do's and dont's with regards to be a good parent. I used to search online about babies and parents, some of the site I never fail to visit are:
*Mom CenterBaby CenterTop MomsSmart ParentingDrypers Diaper ClubEQ Diaper ClubPampers Diaper Club* Thanks a lot to online sites like these and all pretty people around me. You were a big part of my motherhood.

As the days passes by, slowly but surely I'm learning to manage and adjust how to be a good mother to our Queen. When she learned how to crawl, that's when she also learns to be super eager, as in she'll cry if she didn't get what she wants or do what she supposed to do that she might get hurt or not yet ready for her. Those things taught me to be more patient even though I know I have a short temper, I have to get into the fact that I should be a mother of understanding and patience. The questions is, how do you deal with your baby's tantrums?

1. I let my Queen cry for how long she wants because I know she'll stop on her own.
2. I give what she wants as long as she's safe and comfortable.
3. Whenever she really cry so loud, I'll pick her up and go outside then try to console her.
4. Sometimes, it's hard to know what's going on, why she's crying.. then she'll scratch her face, the sign that she's already sleepy. I'll immediately mix up her milk and give it to her, then she'll fall asleep.
5. I make move to laugh with her, read something, turn on the music and dance with her. Then suddenly she'll forget why she's crying.

Those are the things what I'm doing to deal with my Queen's tantrums. Experience taught me to be strongly patient, as to be a good mother but also a good wife. Experience as what everybody knows is the best teacher. Some thoughts to ponder:

  • I learned not to spank her because it might cause of trauma or she will do the same.
  • Do not shout at her because she might get frightened or else go on shouting too.
  • Do not teach her the things you know is bad if you don't want her to do it with you.
  • Do not force her to sleep because she'll fall asleep without you knowing. But it is good to have a sleep pattern or sleep schedule.
  • Do not feed her milk before meal, she will lose her appetite.
  • But you can force her to eat at least 2-3 spoons of rice with chow of course.
  • Do not let her eat all the foods, consider the things that might happen if she take the food that not yet ready       for her. As much as possible fruits and veggies and other soft food should be taken by the babies.
  • No junk foods, no soft drinks but instead more water.
  • Give her vitamins to help her mind and body develops in a healthy way.

I'm telling you all of these because I am experiencing it with my baby at 1 year old. If you have comments, suggestions and advice, feel free to leave a message in the comment box or email me regarding baby and parenting matters. It will be a big help for us new Moms.

Holy Week 2012 - Good Friday

April 12, 2012 0 Comments
Hi, guys! I want to share to you some of the photos I took last Good Friday, wherein me and my husband went to Baliuag Town Proper to watch the traditional procession. Take note, it was not the usual procession but Baliuag was known to have the longest procession. That's the first time my husband watched over the life-sized creations of Saints. Really amazing! All of those stations were beautifully arranged with colorful flowers and lights. They have different sizes and shapes. The Saints were all dressed according to their situations. Here are some of them:

Every year you can watch all of them for almost 100 plus chariot of Holy in St. Augustine Parish Church, Baliuag, Bulacan. Just go there as early as 5 o'clock in the afternoon every Holy Wednesday and Good Friday. There's also a presentation of Life of Jesus and some people doing the tradition of sacrifice by beating your back while in a parade.

Since Holy Week is the time to reflect and let silence in us to give way to Thank and gives meaning to our Dear Lord Jesus for His sacrifices, we prayed, we gave food to the church, we watched processions, we visited some churches and we attended the masses. Those are the things to do during Holy Week. But as we could observe, there are people doing some things during those days, like going on to the beach and go out of the country to make a short visit. Actually, those are rich people while ordinary people are just staying at home.
Time to pray and praise God with all our hearts.

Happy 1st Birthday Baby Queen!

April 11, 2012 2 Comments
April 01, 2012, Sunday - Queen's First Birthday. It was a mix fairy, candy and balloon party. All the kids who celebrated with us got really enjoyed  even all the adults. The clowns added and made the party enjoyable and memorable. But what made us really happy was that my family, relatives and friends both side were gathered together to make Queen's party possible. They made the day a blast! Actually this birthday party was all about sponsored thing. Lol!^^ My baby looks gloomy that day, because she got a fever a few days before her birthday and with matching coughs and colds. She hardly smile but I know she watched over the event.
                                                  Time  to dress up.

These were the dresses that Queen wore on her big day. My Eldest sister bought the first dress with a cute sandals. Then, the other one was bought by my mother-in-law together with the fairy wings (white and pink), magic wand and a headband.
                                              Picture time with the clowns.

To make the birthday complete, a souvenir should be present. So, Me and my youngest sister looked for an affordable one and usable thing, it's a cute and colorful ballpen with a head of doll on the tip, decorated of a feathers. I've designed the souvenir tag from PiZap.

My husband designed the tarpaulin for our Queen's Special Day. It destined for a certain purpose for her to know someday when she grows up, we did prepare to celebrate her first born day. And when she turns into inquisitiveness or curiosity, she'll see this and will ask about it. I would be glad to tell the story if that time comes.

A birthday cake and a candle as a tradition to bring good luck and make wishes that everyone hopes to come true; these cute cake was bought by my in laws. As you can see, it wasn't written in the cake that it came from Mommy and Daddy. They just extend their support by bringing the cake. So we didn't buy  another one.

The balloons were also provided by one of her Godfather, one of my cousin. While some of the balloons in a stick were included in a package in the clowns. The party bags, party hat, party poppers, pots and hanging candies were also enclosed to the clowns kit. Me and Daddy payed for it.

But of course, the foods were served on time. Not too social, but a typical food for us Filipinos. We had a yellow maja made with corn starch and sweet corn, rice cakes, the common favorite-spaghetti, chicken fillet, four season (it's a mixed veggies) and of course the plain rice and other menus very common.I also served a hotdog on a stick with marshmallow. All of these were cooked in my parents house with the help of my Aunts and cousins. I hope the guests enjoyed the food. The expenses for the foods were payed by my parents and in laws.

I know you noticed that all the stuffs were all been sponsored by our family and relatives. I admit, me and my husband were not capable of giving our Queen a party like these alone. We really need a big help. So this time we THANK everyone who participated to support us. Without you guys, it became possible. But since I love the idea of having a gatherings, I no longer became a shy type, so I asked everyone to help me out for Queen's Party. Thank You Lord!

Our wish for Queen, now that you're growing up, we want you to be always healthy, as much as possible no more fever and flu, coughs and cold etc., be smart, be kind and be religious when you grow up. Daddy and Mommy will continue to support you and provide all the things you need. I hope that God continue to bless us and guide us. We also pray and wish that you have a life full of joy, happiness, success, prosperity and love of friends, near and dear ones. God bless you, our little angel.

This is a year of many first things, from eating to walking, and lots in between. However, the most exciting first that you  had on your birthday was opening all those gifts and birthday songs were sent your way! Happy 1st Birthday Baby! We love you.. a WHOLE LOT!

Dichlorobenzyl Alcohol Amylmetacresol (Strepsils) Review

April 10, 2012 0 Comments

SRP P41.
I'm fond of taking strepsils whenever I don't feel good about my throat. I usually buy the cool sensation flavor. This candy like and sweet relief for my sore throat will always be ready in my medicine kit particularly the first one I always remember to give my kids if they weren't feeling well. The usual reason why my kids gets fever is because they were into lollipop almost everyday.
So their throat easily gets irritated and sore.  I make sure to give them the first aid which is strepsils.

I love the mint cool feeling formulation inside the mouth. Strepsils Cool Antibacterial Lozenges provide fast, soothing and effective relief from sore throat. Each lozenge contains a combination of 2 antibacterials to help kill the bacteria which can carry throats and mouth infections. It also contains cooling menthol for that instant cooling sensation in your throat.
You may carry anytime, anywhere. Available in all drugstore and supermarkets nationwide.
Strepsils stops your sore throat before it gets worse. First aid for itchiness.

Flavor: Also available in original, Orange with vitamins C, Honey and Lemon, Sugar Free and Extra Strong flavors.
Directions: Adults and children: Dissolve one lozenge in the mouth every 2 to 3 hours or as prescribed by the physician. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.
